PROGRAMS AND FUNDING
SOCGA would like to wish her membership success as we venture into a new quadrennial. The membership will be reminded of the universal governance principles which were distributed in 2011. As stated by SOCGA President Robert Z. Magagula at the General Assembly in November 2012, these principles will now be used to benchmark the performance of associations against the minimum require-ments for membership in order to ensure that they (members) meet the compliance levels of SOCGA.
The pamphlet on the right summarises all the programmes offered to Olympic Sport Organisation’s (OSOs) in compliance to these universal governance principles. These principles will be the guiding document in assisting OSOs to reach good standards of governance in their opera-tions and is attached.
SOCGA recommends that all OSOs distribute these princi-ples to their membership, officials, coaches, athletes, ad-ministrators, etc.
The Programme Guide for Olympic Sport Organisations has undergone changes for the 2013 – 2017 Quadrennial Plan. The major objectives are: to facilitate access to informa-tion, improve the presentation and be environmentally friendly, thanks to limited use of paper.
